Valentine’s Day the Euro Way

And now we give you a glimpse of Valentine’s Day celebrations around Europe. Our correspondents from London, Frankfurt and Prague wanted to find out how people celebrate and what do they know of this mysterious St. Valentine. Let’s find out. February 14th is Valentine’s Day. Its celebrated around the world, perhaps more in some places than in others. We go to London, where hundreds of people celebrate Valentine’s with a street party by the statue of Eros, the Greek god of Love. The party is called “Reclaim Love” and offers free hugs to passersby. Everyone dances away to free music and give away plenty of free smiles. In fact Reclaim Love participants say Love is for free and you can’t buy it. [Joseph Davis-Coates, Reclaim Love Participant]: “To love someone you don’t have to buy them something, you just have to love them. The more love you give, the more love there is. It’s never ending..” ["Reclaim Love" Participant]: “Love is not for sale. Love is love.” But Phill thinks buying something for Valentine’s is not such a bad thing. [Phill Stebbing, TV Director/Producer]: “I actually like Valentine’s Day, because it’s an actual reminder to people about love, cause you see it everywhere, you see the hearts, and people are actually forced into thinking about their loved one.
