  • January 26, 2011 at 11:48 am

Travel is a great time to spend with your loved ones, although to make the trip extra special you will need to choose the perfect place. Here are five of the most romantic travel destinations in the world:

1. Montmarte, Paris- Often thought as the most romantic destination in the world, the elegant capital attracts many couples. Montmarte is a ‘village’ within the city and is a great area for romance. The area has an historical feel which gorgeous shops, 1930′s style cafes and houses full of character. You’ll also probably want to climb the hill to the ancient Sacred Heart church which sits high on a hill overlooking Paris.

2. The Highlands, Scotland- The stunning highlands of Scotland are characterised by wild sloping landscapes, ancient woodlands, majestic castles and crystal-clear lochs. Hire a log cabin and cosy up by the open fire for a truly romantic break.

3. Big Sur – California offers some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. The coastline following alongside Highway One is one of the most scenic areas in the state and is otherwise known as Big Sur. Hire a convertible for an amazingly romantic drive or camp out under the stars with the waves crashing on the rocks beneath you.

4. Lake Garda – This is a Lake in Italy located very near Romeo and Juliet’s town Verona. The lake is large, peaceful and stunning but what really makes this place is the gorgeous and impossibly pretty villages surrounding it. Each one is charming, relaxing and photogenic with a great selection of restaurants and shops. Perfect for romance.

5. Amsterdam – Not always topping the most romantic destination list, Amsterdam is often sadly overlooked as a couples destination. A compact city filled with canals, important museums and friendly cafes, the best way to see Amsterdam is arm in arm with a loved one. Choose one of the more luxury hotels for more of a hassle free stay.

Cool Ways On How You And Your Lover Can Have Fun On Valentine’s Day Together

    • July 17, 2010 at 5:31 pm

Valentine’s Day is celebrated on February 14. It’s a holiday that is celebrated throughout the world. It is actually a tribute to the memory of Saint Valentine. He is the martyr of love, known for sacrificing his life to help unite lovers, and fight the oppressive rein of the king.

Valentine’s Day has become the day for lovers to show each other their appreciation and affection. Lovers all try to make it a special and unique day for their sweetie.

You won’t lack for choices of what to do on Valentine’s Day. You have a huge number of choices. Generally people stay more traditional and romantic with their celebrations. Moonlit walks, picnics, gourmet dinners, lake trips, all of these are popular options. You can also get very creative and do something unique and make your partner happy.

If you want to plan your own Valentine’s Day celebration, break it down into three components: food, destination, and gifts. The food part is easy. You know what your partner especially likes. Go with their favorites, and you can even make them ahead of time.

Your destination can be just about anywhere that is romantic, warm, and soothing. Restaurants or parks are ideal, though holding your celebration at home is also appropriate. Finally, the gift should be something that reflects your appreciation. That matters far more than does the price tag. You can give anything from a handmade card to flowers and chocolates, to clothing or jewelry.

Sometimes couples take the ultimate step in romantic and become engaged on this day. February 14 is recognized as the day when love itself is celebrated, so this is appropriate. Some even pick this day for their wedding day.

Bear in mind, though, that if you choose to marry on Valentine’s Day, it can be pretty expensive. You can often find discounts from service providers if you are getting married on this day. Caterers, wedding planners, and florists, for example, may offer incentives.

What if you just can’t think of anything? Go online. There are websites where you can get ideas. See what other people have done and get inspired. You can even ask for advice or recommendations. You can even get help with your preparations for a nominal fee.
