My Bloody Valentine

September 9th 2011 –

They say that the album by My Bloody Valentine is one of the best techno songs in the world. well, I’m not sure if it really counts as techno. I think it really counts as electronica more likely. I’m also not too very keen about techno, though there are a lot of people who are ignorant, just as I am about what great techno consists in. does it simply use electronic instruments? Or must it somehow be related to the dance music genre? If it’s the latter, then maybe you might as well just call it dance music for all it’s worth. But I wouldn’t be one to enforce terms on other people, especially in their personal and private understanding of music. For me what’s more important is really being open to all sorts of styles and genres, and not being cocooned, and trapped, inside just one narrow genre like techno.
