It’s going to be Valentine’s Day in September after Week 1 because you’re going to be writing love letters to these fantasy standouts.

These men will capture your hearts and soul with dominant performances to begin the season. You’ll rush to the waiver-wire, send out trade offers or give yourself a pat on the back for already owning one or more of the following five Week 1 darlings.

5. C.J. Spiller, RB, Buffalo Bills

It’s going to be nearly impossible for Ryan Fitzpatrick to toss the rock against the fantastic Kansas City secondary. Brandon Flowers and Eric Berry will shut down “Mr. Why So serious?” Stevie Johnson.

Thankfully for the Bills, second-year RB C.J. Spiller will help lead the way for an upset bid. Spiller has dynamic skills including phenomenal speed, agility and receiving skills. the only way to counter Kansas City’s stellar defense is to run right at it with Spiller’s blazing speed.

4. Colt McCoy, QB, Cleveland Browns

Colt McCoy became a darling in the first two preseason games, but trailed off in the last two. Which man will we see?

Let’s put it this way—the Browns finally have a legitimate franchise QB to call their own.

McCoy may not have fantastic weapons just yet, but he has enough to dissect the Bengals’ underrated defense in the West Coast offense. He went to Brett Favre for guidance and it’ll pay off immediately in victorious Week 1 fashion.

3. Davone Bess, WR, Miami Dolphins

Is there a team more hated than the Patriots in the NFL? most people want the Dolphins to upset the Pats on Monday Night Football. It’s unlikely, but Davone Bess will have people thinking there’s a chance.

Bess is a fantastic route-runner with great agility, quickness, separation skills and soft hands. He’ll be Chad Henne’s favorite target as he gets open early and often to move the chains. He’s a tough receiver who’ll bounce back from a big hit, but at least Brandon Meriweather is in Chicago.

2. Lance Kendricks, TE, St. Louis Rams

If the Rams are to upset the “Dream Team” Philadelphia Eagles, rookie TE Lance Kendricks will be one of the biggest impact performers. Kendricks was a superstar during the preseason with two touchdowns and it’ll carry over. He has the speed, size and strength to abuse the Eagles’ weak linebackers and safeties.

Expect Sam Bradford and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels to exploit the middle of the field with Kendricks.

1. Kerry Collins, QB, Indianapolis Colts

Everyone thinks Kerry Collins will be absolutely terrible Week 1 against Wade Phillips’ improved Texans defense. considering how down people are on the Colts and Collins, a potential upset and dominant QB performance is only fitting. It’s almost a given at this point.

Collins is an experienced veteran and will work with the best supporting cast of his entire career. Reggie Wayne can abuse Johnathan Joseph and Dallas Clark will be a safety net. Collins will be everyone’s favorite elderly QB after Week 1.
