What are your Valentine's Day traditions in your family?

Do you get your children gifts for Valentine's Day? What are you getting your SO? What would you like from your SO?

Last year we did a Valentine's Card scavenger hunt. It's kind of like an Easter Egg hunt, but it's for little Valentine's Day cards. a box is what, $2? I put little treats in each one, a sticker or some red/pink M&Ms. He loved it. I'm planning on doing the same this year.

The only actual tradition we have here is that my husband and I get a bubble bath together. Everything else, just depends on whether I want to be lazy and buy cookies or bake for example.

That's cute! What a great idea!

I actually quite dislike the idea of Valentines Day (maybe that's because I don't have a SO and t makes me jealous to see others all romantic lol) I just think that we should show our love everyday and not expect it on a certain day…

I do get my daughter little gifts and she has a party at school so we will probably bake something special.

We eat a lot of heart shaped food and do crafts. my husband and I do not exchange gifts, but the kids always get something.

YOU are my hero. I've been struggling with what to do with Luke. We've made a big deal of making chocolate lolly pops for his little daycare friends and we're taking little cards for him to give out with them…but I was stumped on what to do for him at home.

That sounds like just the cutest thing.

As far as family traditions….Valentine cards for everyone, my hubby always gets me roses and we always go to "our" restaurant for dinner…but with the economy the way it is…it seems wasteful to me to drop $250 bucks like that.

I'd be happy with two hours alone with him…no kids…no tv….

ive never really given valentines day much thought. even with a SO, it never really mattered. guess i never had anyone who ever made it special for me. i have been thinking about doing something for my kids though. just a card and maybe a thing of candy for each of them. make a big deal to them, i think they will get a kick outta it. plus they deserve something a little extra special.

We always get the kids a small box of candy and a gift each. This year we're getting them gift cards and putting them in the candy box. I'm biting my tongue and buying my SO the rod and reel he wants. It's a little more than I think a fishing pole should cost, but I broke his other one last year (accidentally). I have no idea what he's getting me. I don't really have a wishlist, just as long as it isn't chocolate and roses.

Scavenger hung is a great idea, our family loves them!

We usually do a LOT of baking, a lot! my kids and I go around visiting all our friends and family at work dropping off a ton of goodies for them:) the kid love going around giving everyone treats and eating them as well, lol. we get our kids chocolate and homemade cards, this year we are adding a gift certificate to a child's cooking class for them. my husband normally gets me a good bottle of wine or tequila and margarita mix, lol, along with a spa gift certificate. I get him a certificate for a message and porn:) we also do some other stuff I'm not going to mention on here:)

I love Valentine's day, even when I'm single I like it. It's fun. Sure it's commercialised, but it's still an excuse to celebrate and spoil my loved ones, and let them know they're loved and appreciated, so I love it.

I always get my daughter a box filled with little things. This year since she's reading, on every little item, I'm writing her a note with something I love and appreciate about her on it. Candies, usually a dress or an outfit for spring, art supplies, books. This year I got it all done early and my brother's bringing it when he joins my daughter and I next week on our vacation, along with gifts from our friends for her. of all our friends I'm the only one who has a kid, so they kind of take it upon themselves to spoil her and make things for her all the time and send her all kinds of gifts at any and every holiday. I'm sure she'll be overloaded again.

I am dating someone, I haven't really thought about him =/ Bad girlfriend, I know. I'll send him some stuff from Canada and some chocolate.

I make up small boxes for my younger siblings and brother too. It's so much fun to put thought into sending a nice little package with the message of appreciation.

We don't really have a v-day tradition.
This year my girls are giving my grandma, my mom and a few of my aunts a v-day photo card and a dove chocolate rose. might become a tradition.

Last year, I took em to build a bear. I just received 2 v-day books that I bought them, hehe one is "Roses are Pink, your Feet really Stink" so they will each be getting a book and bag with goodies.

Scavenger hunt sounds fun..

We always make valentines crafts to decorate the house, and make cards for eachother. we try to go for a walk on the beach and look for sea glass. I made chicken fetticini alfredo for dinner and we make a mini cake.

I love your idea, we might do that now too :)

I get little gifts and cards for the kids. Husband and I don't do much, our anniversary is February 1.
but enough about me…

I just basically want to say that I love your valentine scavenger hunt idea , and hope you don't mind if I copy-cat it this year !!!!!!!!!!!!

That's an awesome idea :) .

For Valentine's Day, my daughter's will be going to see my mother (she is single and will enjoy the time with her grandkids) and my boyfriend and I will be going out to dinner and then a local rock concert that is playing. I'm getting him a stuffed animal and a box of chocolate. I think Valentine's Day is pretty much all about soft toys, chocolate and cheesy gifts.

What are your Valentine's Day traditions in your family?
