"the Broadneck drama department then was run by miss D – Jane Daugherty – who is now principal of St. Martin's Lutheran School in Annapolis," said Anna, who grew up in the St. Margaret's area and first appeared on stage, at age 10, in the Children's Theatre of Annapolis production of "the Emperor's New Clothes."

Justin, an alum of CTA, Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre and the Talent Machine, originally trod the boards as a "bad boy" in CTA's production of "Pinocchio." His childhood home is on Log Inn Road.

The two friends grew up, majored in theater arts and eventually moved to New York City, where they pursue their passion for the theater.

Justin has kept busy as a member in casts of top-ranked musical productions in New York and Las Vegas. he is a featured cast member in the first national tour of "Wicked." this summer, the musical is playing for 11 weeks at the Kennedy Center.

Anna and her husband Alan Ostroff are the owners and producers of Infinity Theatre Company, which, for the second year, is bringing professional New York City theater to Annapolis.

As with Justin, Anna has performed all over the country and in the Big Apple.

Anna and Alan have brought two shows to Annapolis this summer. Both will be presented at the 1661 Bay Head Road location of CTA.

"My Way: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra" can be seen Thursdays through Sundays through July 10. Infinity's production of "Little Shop of Horrors" runs July 15 through Aug. 7.

"this new CTA space can support professional productions," said Anna. "What's so cool, as an alum, is we can bring professional productions to Annapolis in CTA's off-season. It's an exciting partnership. I'm thrilled to be able to come back and provide something to them."

Justin nodded agreement and said: "It is great Annapolis-area kids have one space to build a foundation for their talent and that patrons have that continuity, too."

The two friends will reunite in "Louder Than Words," an evening of Cabaret, on June 27 at the CTA theater.

Hosted by Justin, ''Louder Than Words'' will benefit the "I Can" Team Monica Foundation, a Maryland-based nonprofit that assists women and their families with issues of breast cancer (www.icanteammonica.org). the cabaret performance also benefits the Infinity Theatre Company.

The silent auction begins at 6 p.m. and the curtain goes up at 7 p.m. for tickets, call 877-501-8499 or visit www.louderthanwords.com.

Let's be clear: Delores Green still acts like – and is – the proverbial spring chicken. At 71, she does not consider herself a senior citizen. She's too busy helping other seniors. Delores retired from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources five years ago, partially to care for her very active mother, Bessie I. Johns, who passed away in January at age 89.

Delores, working with a dedicated cadre of volunteers, most of them members of the Asbury Broadneck United Methodist Church, hosts an annual free luncheon for area seniors at her home in the Skidmore neighborhood.

Every month, she borrows the church's 15-passenger van and corrals a few friends and her husband Thomas Green, to serve as carpoolers. they divide up lists of approximately 65 seniors. the volunteers pick up the men and women at their homes and take them shopping at a Walmart or Kmart. Afterward, they all go out to lunch. for those seniors who are homebound, it may be their one social outing of the month.

At Christmas time, Delores and her daughters, Rosalyn Fountain, 52, and Kim Blake, 55, chip in to buy small prize gifts for an annual bingo night they put together for the seniors. they also plan a Red-and-White Ball in February to celebrate Valentine's Day. Both events are held in the church's Fellowship Hall.

Delores began the project five years ago when she retired.

"I wanted to do something for seniors 70 and older. I took some to their doctors' appointments, until my own mother's medical problems made that difficult," she said.

For the annual picnic luncheons, Delores serves a simple meal: 50 pounds of homemade potato salad, pasta and green salads, baked beans, corn on the cob, deviled eggs, meatballs, hot dogs, cabbage, fried fish, three kinds of chicken, deserts and non-alcoholic drinks. this year's event on June 10 was held in the Fellowship Hall instead of at Delore's home as it was too hot and muggy outdoors.

Representatives from Anne Arundel Department of Aging, the Community Action Agency and the Farmers Market were on hand, too, to chat with seniors about available services.

"I do it because I love doing things for people," Delores said. "It takes a village to raise a child, but it takes an army to take care of a senior. These elders have worked hard and they need our help."

On her to-do list is organizing a daytime movie trip and a Bible study class.

Among Delores' volunteers are Valerie Jones, Bryan Crowser, Maya Stansbury and Carol Reynolds.

During the Cape St. Claire Strawberry Festival June 11, members of the Cape St. Claire Garden Club and Cape Monogram donated $200 and a tray of tomato plants to the Goshen House Preservation Society.

The $200 represented the Garden Club's savings when Cape Monogram donated gardener's aprons to the club members. Goshen House, meanwhile, is trying to raise funds to restore the historic farmhouse.
