Sorority Be My Valentine Candy-Gram Kiss Fundraiser

  • September 10, 2011 at 4:30 am

With Valentine’s Day approaching, there isn’t a better time to get ready to do a candy-gram fundraiser. Candy gram fundraisers are perfect for sororities and fraternities and other groups who have a big social circle and are great at getting the word out.

The candy-gram fundraiser works like this: you publicize your candy-gram day or week. On this day or several days, your sorority will act as cupid’s elves and deliver fun messages from secret or not so secret admirers to designated recipients. each message will be purchased for a small amount anywhere from $.25 to $2 (the amount is up to you – you want to charge as much as you can but still get people to purchase multiple messages). They will write a message on a little card that you provide. you attach a Hershey kiss or other desired candy and then will deliver it at a time and place provided by the sender.

Be specific about times of delivery and places that your cupids will go. if there are certain classes that you can get permission to interrupt for delivery, it makes it particularly easy. you can have a library delivery person who does deliveries at the campus library – this is particularly good during finals or mid-term time for a pick me up. you can also deliver to dorms or sorority/fraternity houses. Don’t tell the recipient whom their secret kiss is from. The mystery is what makes it fun. People will be delighted when they receive kisses and messages and will hopefully be inspired to send messages of their own. because of this, it’s best to have your fundraiser run for a week or so to ensure that all of those who want to kiss their fellow classmates have the opportunity to do so.

Utilize your contacts – publicity is key with this fundraiser. make sure every member of your sorority contacts everyone they know via email, phone and in person and solicits as many messages as they can. It’s great because the cards and chocolate kisses are small enough to carry around to get new candy-gram messages on the spot and on the fly.
