Are girls supposed to give valentine day gifts?

this might sound stupid, but are girls supposed to buy their boyfriends a valentine day gift? this is the first year i've had a boyfriend on valentines day.

Sure. if your relationship is still new get him something more casual. like his favorite movie or the new cd from his favorite artist. Maybe include it with a card. ask your guy friends for ideas. you could even get him cologne if you know what kind he wears.

Guys like getting presents, too. What kind of present depends on if he'd notice the thought or just that it is a present. I gave my first BF a card with coupons for "us-time" stuff. things like a kiss, a hug, a date, a picnic, etc.

Well yeah :) last year i gave my guy a plate of hershey kiss valentines swirl cookies and some chocolates that said "Hug" and "Kiss" and last year on v tines was our first kiss :) So think of the hings ur guy likes and go from there :)
