A woman who was charged for throwing a piece of lumber at her boyfriend, shattering the rear window of his car in Garapan during their argument on Valentine’s Day, has entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to three days in jail.Jesmy Nakayama signed a plea agreement with the government and pleaded guilty last Wednesday to criminal mischief.Superior Court associate judge Ramona V. Manglona accepted the plea agreement and the government’s recommendation to impose a six-month jail term on 45-year-old Nakayama, all suspended except three days.Manglona gave the defendant credit for the three days she already served in jail following her arrest. it means the defendant will no longer serve more jail time.The judge placed Nakayama on probation for one year and ordered her to pay a $350 fine, $100 probation fee, and $25 court assessment fee.The defendant was also required to pay restitution to the victim.The Office of the Attorney General filed an information on Feb. 25, 2011, charging Nakayama with assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, criminal mischief, and disturbing the peace.for pleading guilty to criminal mischief, the government agreed to dismiss the remaining charges.The plea agreement stated that on Feb. 14, 2011 on Saipan, Nakayama shattered the rear window of a 1992 blue Toyota Tercel.Detective Peter A. Aldan stated in his report that Nakayama and her boyfriend had an argument over Nakayama’s former boyfriend, prompting her to tell her boyfriend to leave her house at Upper Miha housing in Garapan.as the boyfriend was backing out his car, Nakayama took an 18-inch long 2X4 lumber and threw it at him twice, hitting the vehicle and shattering the rear window.The boyfriend got down from the car and ran to Shirley’s Coffee Shop where he called police.
