Who Thought February Was A Dreaded Time Of Year?

  • February 25, 2010 at 2:18 pm

When you think of the month of February, there\’s probably not much good that you associate with it. After all, the weather is cold, the sun goes down early, and there\’s not too much to enjoy as the time passes.

On the positive side, there are some exciting events that should help to pass the time during this month. It\’s also the shortest month there is, as the 28 days should help to bring an end to February more quickly than with other months.

Let\’s take a look at some of the highlights of this month, as you might even be inspired by some of them. They\’ll help to pass the time, and the month will fly by and be done with before you had a chance to think about it.

First off, there are the holidays. There are a few of them, with some having more significance than others. During the second day of the month, there\’s Groundhog Day, which obviously holds more novelty than anything else. Regardless, it\’s a milestone in some senses as it marks the beginning of the end of winter.

If you\’re a sentimental person, you\’re probably already thinking about next Valentine\’s Day. Still, anyone with someone special in their life should enjoy themselves this year, as the holiday falls on a Sunday. Perhaps a weekend getaway would make things interesting.

A week after that, President\’s Day comes. Students love this for the fact that a day off or an extended break may come with it, but many employers offer the day off to their workforce too. Enjoy your free time if you don\’t have to work on this holiday.

Then, there are a few sports milestones to look forward to as well. For one, the Winter Olympics begin during February. In Vancouver this year, they\’re sure to bring a good amount of action to the television sets of millions around the world.

If you\’re a basketball fan, you\’ll have the NBA All-Star weekend to look forward to during the second half of the month. Not only will you get to see the best players in the sport going head to head, but the slam dunk and three point contests should make things even more enjoyable.

Music featured from newgrounds.com: -Christmas Tail by Zay5 -Timid Girl by Vibe Ok so as you can see this is an extremely simple and natural look. This was extra footage that I almost discarded but I thought it would work well for a Valentine’s Day look, hence the voiceover. My camcorder never came in because they somehow canceled my order and never notified me of it (yes I wasn’t too happy about that at all!) So that is why this isn’t the usual kind of tutorial, rather it’s me introducing some of the products that I like most from the package that I received courtesy of Bobbi Brown. Thanks Samantha! I was never asked to review or feature any of their products. Hope you all have a great Valentine’s weekend!! Much love and happiness to you all =) Bobbi Brown products featured in this video: -Ultra Fine Eye Liner Brush -Long-Wear Gel Liner in Sepia Ink -Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Chocolate Cherry -Eyebrow Brush -Pressed Powder in Pale Yellow Other products used: -Mix of Revlon Colorstay foundation in Sand Beige and MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation in NC35 -Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Peach (for under eyes) -Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda concealer palette -covergirl lashblast mascara waterproof Twitter: twitter.com Facebook Page: www.facebook.com If you like this format for tutorials better do let me know! Dating on the Cheap

  • February 23, 2010 at 6:17 pm

The economic is really taking a dent in your budget but you still want to go out on a date. How do you find a place that you and your love one will like but not spend a fortune? Here are a few suggestions.

Finding a quiet place to picnic on a lazy Sunday afternoon is what every partner wants. If your date is into you, the trip out will definitely be fun and memorable.

Going to watch sunrise is the most romantic and cheapest date you can find. The scenery is beautiful and your date will actually appreciate it much more than most things you can buy.

Playing a board game is a great way to spend lots of time together. You can play against each other, or actually play together and try to beat the computer on an electronic version too.

A nice walk around town is a great way to get to know one another. It\’s obviously free, and you can talk to your date for as long as you want. That way, you get to know her instead of watching her talk to her waiter.

Try to develop the same interests so you two can talk to each other without spending a fortune. If you know how to play instruments that compliment each other, you two can play together.

One thing you must remember when going out. Use a credit card to avoid embarrassment when you don\’t\’ have enough cash. The other benefit is that you get the reward points too so you can save a little bit of money.

Going to coffee is actually a great date idea. It\’s not free, but you could be talking for hours by spending a few bucks.

Most people are scared to show off your body but it\’s okay to be chubby and still enjoy the water. Go to the beach with your date and spend time knowing each other.

Another way to save some money is to use the Netflix free trial to get free service for two weeks.
